After a 22-year hiatus, flag carrier Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) on Monday (Aug 17) resumed flying overseas as it launched its international flight from Yangon to Singapore, despite other Myanmar airlines having struggled to compete with Singaporean carriers on the highly competitive route, reports ChannelNewsAsia.
The inaugural ceremony welcomed several high profile VIPS from Myanmar, including:
- His Excellency U Han Sein, Deputy Minister of Myanmar Minister of Transport
- His Excellency U Htay Aung, Ambassador of Republic of the union of Myanmar to the Republic of Singapore
- U Min Lwin, Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Authority Myanmar
The emcee for the event was Lester Leo Emcee Singapore.
