Happy to host the Singapore Pools Football with a Heart!
?? ????? ????, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, was the Guest-of-honour.
I hosted the second day, which saw two Charity Football matches and the Children’s tournament, which was organised in partnership with People’s Association PAssion Community Football (PACF) Program.
The two Charity matches raised raised an incredible $100,000!
The highlight was undoubtedly the Charity match between Team Parliamentarians and Singapore Football Legends.
Team Parliamentarians & Friends saw Minister Edwin Tong, Speaker Seah Kian Peng, MPs Melvin Yong and Sharael Taha joined by their friends Danelle Tan (Borussia Dortmund), Baihakki Khaizan and Lionel Lewis amongst others.
The Singapore Football Legends team boasted greats like Nazri Nasir, Indra Sahdan, Malek Awab, Ho Kwang Hock amongst many ex-Singapore players.
It was an exciting high scoring match with a total of 14 goals scored!
While the Charity matches were exciting, the Children’s Tournament under the PACF program was also a major highlight.
Hundreds of young talents competed in three categories: U8, U10, and U12.
POSB contributed a generous $600,000 towards supporting the PACF Programme, fostering family and community bonding through football for children and youth.
Football with a Heart is a great initiative that brings the private and public sector together to raise funds for the underserved communities in Singapore through a friendly five-a-side football tournament.
