The Seeds of Sustainable Philanthropy event is a collaboration between Community Chest and the Garden City Fund, a registered charity and IPC of National Parks Board (NParks), to plant 40 trees under the Plant-A-Tree programme.
Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister & Coordinating Minister for Social Policies was the Guest-of-honour, and the host was Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health.
Every tree planted will contribute to the OneMillionTrees Movement, which aims to plant one million more trees across Singapore over 10 years till 2030, moving us closer to realising our vision of becoming a City in Nature, a key pillar of the SG Green Plan.
This event also sees the introduction of the NCSS 4ST Partnership Fund and how it can be the catalyst for impactful partnerships that can and will lead to scalable solutions for the sector.
Community Chest also celebrated its 40th anniversary, with the focus on sustainable philanthropy as the way forward to improve the lives of those in need.
