Emcee Singapore Lester Leo was the emcee for the Orchard Road Christmas Light-Up back in November, with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as the Guest-of-Honor, officially illuminating the festive lights.
Officially titled ‘Christmas on a Great Street Community Chest Light up Ceremony’, this event is co-organised by Community Chest Singapore National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA).
This year also marked the 40th anniversary of the Christmas light-up. Hitachi has been the primary sponsor of the Christmas Light-Up for the past 33 years, while The Boys’ Brigade has been proudly forming the line of honor for over 30 years.
Adding a touch of magic to this year’s festivities, Extraordinary People Limited took the stage during the main launch event. Seven talented musicians with special needs showcased their skills, performing a delightful medley of Christmas songs.
