MSF Singapore commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the Volunteer Probation Officer (VPO) and 25th Anniversary of the Community Service (CS) schemes.
Minister Masagos Zulkifli was the Guest-of-Honour.
The VPOs complement the work of Probation Officers in supervising offenders in the community, while the CS agencies provide them with meaningful community service opportunities to fulfil their probation requirements.
Since 2016, the VPOs have supported over 1,700 probationers through monitoring, befriending, and mentoring activities. Likewise, the probationers completed more than 200,000 hours of community service projects that have touched the lives of beneficiaries and probationers alike.
