§

The MOM-ILO Global Dialogue on Digital Platform Work brought together policymakers, industry stakeholders, labour organisations, and experts from around the world to examine the rapidly evolving landscape of digital platform work.

Hosted by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Singapore’s Manpower Research and Statistics Department (MRSD) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the conference marks a significant step in global knowledge exchange to address data gaps and drive action in the platform economy.

The dialogue focused on understanding the implications of gig and platform-based employment on labour rights, social protection, and workforce development.

Key discussions included strategies for regulating platform work, ensuring fair treatment and protections for workers, and fostering sustainable, inclusive employment practices in the digital economy.

Participants also explored innovative approaches to balancing flexibility and security, leveraging technology for transparency, and promoting collaboration between governments, platforms, and workers.

Through panels, case studies, and interactive sessions, the event provided a platform for sharing global experiences, exchanging best practices, and developing actionable recommendations to support the growth of a fair and resilient digital platform workforce, while ensuring that the benefits of technological innovation are widely shared.
