Lookbox Connect: The Party 2016

Introducing a brand new event concept, Lookbox Connect: The Party! Over the last few years, the Lookbox Living team has thrown some of the biggest parties with some of the biggest names in the design industry. This year, we’ve decided to re-brand the concept as Lookbox Connect, a special event where we invite interior designers and industry insiders to party, network and mingle with out event sponsors.

Held on 22 January 2016, our guests enjoyed themselves at the carnival-like atmosphere at Tin Hill Social. Event sponsors Lamitak, KompacPlus,Commune Living and Hansgrohe came up with some fun games and activities for our guests to take part in, with plenty of prizes to be won.

Founding sponsor Lamitak brought back the popular Analogue Photobooth, a massive hit at last year’s Lookbox Living party. This year, students from Temask Polytechnic manned the photobooth, drawing artistic renditions of guests’ “photos” to their delight. Lamitak also introduced Happy Family and Puzzle Puzzle games using their range of laminates, testing the guests’ eye for details. Throughout the night, Lamitak also partnered with Miun to carry out mini-workshops for selected guests, all of which had the chance to create their own artistic floral sculptures made from laminates.

On the other side of the venue, gold sponsorKompacPlus designed a photowall, complete with a life-sized Vespa made entirely of KompacPlus materials. Guests were encouraged to snap a photo with the Italian-made materials and upload their pictures on Instagram. KompacPlus also came up with the KompacMaze board game. Equal parts exhilarating and challenging, guests had to guide a ball through a maze by tilting and balancing a board made from KompacPlus.

Silver sponsor Commune Living also had a major presence throughout the night. The furniture retailers helped furnish the venue, with their stylish pieces on show throughout the restaurant. The dessert corner in particular, stood out as a feast for both the eyes and tastebuds. This area was completely styled using some of Commune’s most popular furniture pieces. Commune also partnered with fragrance experts AllSense for a Scent Personality Test. Guests could take part in a personality quiz to find out which scents would match their interior design.

Hansgrohe also came up exciting games at their makeshift shooting range. Guests could test their aim by throwing darts at a giant bullseye (composed from a picture of a Hansgrohe Raindance Select handshower), or throwing hoops around Hansgrohe’s mixers and faucets. Emcee Singapore Lester Leo hosted this event.

Giving our guests another reason to celebrate is the official unveiling of Lookbox Annual 2016. For the first time ever, we allowed our readers to vote for their favourite home and put the winning entry on the cover of the magazine. The interior designers at Lookbox Connect have been waiting to find out which home was voted the most popular, and we’re proud to announce D5 Studio Image as the winning entry!
