The Hotel Human Capital Conference was held on 18 May 2023 at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, Singapore.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of the Jobs Transformation Map (JTM) by Guest-of-Honour, Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower & Second Minister for Trade and Industry.
The launch of the JTM is indeed timely as it provides guidance for hotels to rethink workforce strategies to redesign jobs to keep up with evolving guest needs and a changing hospitality landscape. The programme included a presentation by EY on Jobs Transformation Map for Hotel Industry, as well as a panel discussion on “Hotel of Tomorrow and the Impact to Jobs and Skills”.
Organised by SHA, and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board , Workforce Singapore and Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union, the industry conference was well attended with close to 200 hotel representatives and industry partners. In line with the theme of the event, a mini-exhibition on hotel solutions which supports jobs transformation was held alongside the conference.
Following the half day conference, a Hotel Careers Forum targeted at jobseekers, mid-career switchers and graduating students who are interested to learn more about hotel careers was held in the afternoon at the same venue.
